Yesterday was the Annual Teen Challenge Golf Marathon. Wow ! What an experience! 100 holes of golf in less than 8 hours. I've never seen anything quite like it. This the big fund-raiser for the end of the year at Teen Challenge Of St Louis. All the people who helped out and/or golfed were absolutely wonderful. These people should be applauded publicly. Todays society will not do that. More importantly than that ... these people do what they do because of their love for God and the men that come through the program. I don't have the totals, but I'm betting close to $50, 000. I'll edit the post when I know more. I was not able to go last year but was blessed to work this year. Another studetn and myself worked hole #3 which was the closest to the hole. The closest was 9'9" with the "TC" ball. That was beaten by 3 feet by a board member in his early 70's. I know a few tricks for next year should I attend. Never in a million years would I think I'd be beat from riding a golf cart for close to 11 hours. I personally want to thank the board of directors, volunteers, TC staff, students who got to attend the outing and the guys that didn't get to come. More importantly ... I want to thank God for putting it on the hearts of His people to be obedient to His "still small voice" and give financially and of themselves.
